now offering 1-in-1 Katonah Yoga classes via zoom

These sessions are designed for students of any level looking to have full attention on their practice, their body and the emotional, physical and psychological patterns that appear. I will gladly take first time students, people with injury/limited mobility, someone looking for a practice specially designed for them or advanced yoga teachers/movement practitioners looking to straighten their splits, have a second set of eyes on form, etc.

*There is no age I will not teach. Classes could include, postures, stretching, breath work and meditation

For an additional cost, I am offering a personalized practice plan with 3-5 postures (depending on your level of commitment to movement), based on body assessment. These postures will be designed to address the stagnancies, challenges, injuries and goals of the individual.

*If money is an issue or standing between you and movement, please say so and contact me anyways. I believe that money should not be an obstacle to your well-being. I am open to payment plans, trades, etc.

theory

Katonah Yoga® is a syncretic Hatha yoga practice developed by Nevine Michaan over 40 years. She and her teachers incorporate classical Hatha yoga with Taoist theory, geometry, magic, mythology, metaphor, and imagination — in a practical framework designed to potentiate personal and communal well-being.

Framing the practice, maps of time and personal space are defined and refined. Themes using asana as origami, manipulating form for function, and developing a sense of personal measure are incorporated in Katonah Yoga practices.

Katonah Yoga is organized around three principles of esoteric dialogue: all polarities are mediated by trinity; the universe has pattern, pattern implies intelligence; by virtue of repetition there is potential for insight.

Revelations are revolutionary.

About the teacher

Olenka began her yoga journey in Buenos Aires, Argentina over 10 years ago. She has been practicing various lineages since. In late 2017, she took a Katonah Yoga teacher training in Edmonton, Alberta. Shortly after, she continued her training with Katonah Yoga founder Nevine Michaan in Bedford Hills, N.Y., USA. Since early 2018 she has been teaching in both private one-on-one and public class settings from first time students to circus performers alike.

As a dancer, runner, former collegiate athlete and yogi, Olenka loves movement and the gift of sharing it with others. What drew her to Katonah Yoga was the union of pragmatic and esoteric teachings, the community practice aspect and the focus on alignment.

See the pattern. Be the mediator. Find the magician within.
